He was a country boy
Raised on a little farm
Just an average kid
Never did anyone harm

Like most young men
He had hopes and dreams
But plans for the future
Sometimes change it seems

His whole way of life
Suddenly changed one day
When his country called
And took him away

They gave him a uniform
With buttons so bright
They made him a soldier
And taught him to fight

Like thousands of others
He knew what it meant
To serve and defend
Where ever you're sent

He was sent to Vietnam
And there he would fall
Then a casualty of war
Now, a name on the wall
