ANOTHER NIGHT

OH ANOTHER MOONLIT NIGHT
THE STARS ARE SHINING BRIGHT
I WONDER WHAT THIS ONE WILL BRING
WILL I HEAR BULLETS RING

IS SOMEONE GOING TO DIE
AND WILL I HEAR THE WOUNDED CRY
EITHER FOR THEIR MOTHERS
OR FOR THE ASSISTANCE OF THEIR BROTHERS

WILL I HEAR THE BOMBS BLAST
I SURE HOPE IT WOULD BE FAST
THEY SURE SCARE THE HELL OUT OF ME
IF ONLY PEOPLE AT HOME CAN SEE

THE MADNESS AND CHAOS OF WAR
THAT SOUNDS LIKE A LIONS ROAR
NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO LIVE WITH THIS FEAR
OR HAVE TO CONSTANTLY SHED A TEAR

WHEN A FELLOW SOLDIER IS PUT INTO A BAG
WHICH IS TREATING HIM LIKE A RAG
PEOPLE NEED TO REALIZE WAR IS CRAZY
THE STRESS OF COMBAT MAKES THINGS HAZY

MAYBE NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TONIGHT
FOR ME THAT WOULD BE ALL RIGHT
MOST OF THE TIME I MIGHT BE BORED
FOR THAT I WOULD THANK THE LORD

I WOULD JUST SIT AND LOOK AT THE NIGHT SKY
AND MANY TIMES WISH I COULD JUST FLY
AWAY FROM THIS TERRIBLE PLACE
I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN KEEP THIS PACE

NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THE NIGHT WILL BRING
THAT SURE CAN BE A TERRIBLE THING
WILL I AGAIN SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY
IS MY LUCK GOING TO BE THAT WAY

OH ANOTHER QUIET NIGHT
THE STARS ARE SHINING BRIGHT
SOON I WILL BE CATCHING THE FREEDOM BIRD FLIGHT
AND NEVER AGAIN WILL I EVER HAVE TO FIGHT!
