Angels In The Sky

Brave men flew in the day, and the dark of
They weren’t armed or equipped to fight.
Wounded men were counting on them,
They landed in the LZ’s again and again.

Lives were saved all over Vietnam,
By these brave men who kept their calm.
Their choppers had a target on the door,
A painted Red Cross the choppers wore.

These were the men of the medivacs,
Who picked up the living and those in sacks.
Crews who flew without much fear,
Who rescued soldiers far and near.

“Flying Angels” these medics were known,
They worked on soldiers to get them home.
Many a soldier’s life was saved by them,
Those brave medics who came in on a whim.
