I Never Knew You But You Are My Hero
A Poem By Jeff Vadzemnieks
Of Humble, Texas
REST IN PEACE
YOU DIED ON THE DAY I WAS BORN
DURING A TIME WHEN THE COUNTRY WAS TORN
YOU  ANSWERED YOUR NATION'S CALL
BUT SADLY YOUR NAME IS ON THE WALL

AMERICA STILL CRIES
EVERYTIME A SOLDIER DIES
I PRAY THAT YOU HAVE FOUND ETERNAL REST
FOREVER YOU'LL BE AMONG THE BEST

NOW A SHINING STAR IN THE SKY
THERE IS NO MORE NEED TO CRY
YOU DID WHAT WAS RIGHT
NEVER AGAIN YOU'LL HAVE TO FIGHT

IN HEAVEN THERE IS NO WAR
OR ANY OF IT'S TERRIBLE GORE
JUST GOOD THINGS
EVERYTIME AN ANGEL SINGS

REST IN PEACE YOUNG SOLDIER!
